Mission & Vision | Second Chance Families Project

Mission & Vision

Building pathways to reunification, recovery, reentry, and long-term family stability through transportation support and community connection.

Mission

Second Chance Families Project removes transportation barriers that prevent families from achieving reunification, recovery, reentry stability, and long-term success.

We support families impacted by addiction recovery, incarceration, CPS involvement, transportation poverty, and crisis situations by helping connect them to essential services and opportunities for stability.

Vision

We envision a future where families are supported through recovery and stabilization before separation becomes permanent.

Our long-term vision includes transportation equity initiatives, vehicle assistance programs, outreach support, and family-centered transitional recovery housing designed to keep families connected while rebuilding stability.

What We Focus On

  • Family reunification transportation
  • Recovery and treatment access
  • Court and compliance transportation
  • Reentry stabilization support
  • Employment and housing-related transportation
  • Transportation gap assistance not always covered through existing systems

Founder’s Story

“Second Chance Families Project was built from lived experience — not theory.”

I know what it feels like to fight for stability while navigating addiction recovery, transportation barriers, family court systems, and reunification requirements all at once.

During my own recovery journey, I saw how families can still lose everything even while actively trying to rebuild their lives.

I experienced firsthand how difficult it can be to stabilize quickly enough to meet system expectations while trying to survive emotionally, financially, and mentally.

That experience revealed a difficult truth: many families are willing to do the work to recover and rebuild, but lack the support systems needed to maintain long-term stability.

I realized there was a major gap between crisis response and true family stabilization.

That gap is why I created Second Chance Families Project.

My mission is to help families access the transportation and support systems that allow them to stay connected, continue rebuilding, and create real opportunities for reunification and recovery.
